Privacy Policy

DayStayed (“DayStayed,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Advantage Advisors LLC, a Florida limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information the DayStayed app and website collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using DayStayed, you agree to this policy.

DayStayed helps you track how many days you spend in each state or country for residency day-counting. To do that, the app records where you are each day. We take that seriously: your location data is tied only to your account, is never sold, and is never used for advertising.

Information we collect

Account information. Your name, email address, and (optionally) a mobile phone number you provide for alerts. We also store internal account and person identifiers.

Location information. With your permission, the app captures your device’s location in the background and resolves it to a city, state, and country. To do this it reads your latitude and longitude, which under Apple’s definition is “precise location.” We use these coordinates only to determine which jurisdiction you were in on a given day; the coordinates and place labels are encrypted at rest. You can also add or correct days manually instead of relying on automatic capture.

Device information. A per-install device key that lets your device securely send location signals to our service in the background.

Day records. The resolved jurisdiction for each day, any manual corrections you make, and notes you add.

We do not collect health or fitness data, financial information, browsing or search history, your contacts, photos, audio, messages, or any advertising identifiers. DayStayed contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.

How we use your information

To record your daily location history and count days by jurisdiction.
To show your dashboard, thresholds, alerts, and reports.
To send transactional emails you ask for, such as threshold alerts and password resets.
To create and manage your account, including verifying sign-in and processing account deletion.
To operate, secure, and improve the service.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share information only with service providers that help us run DayStayed, and only as needed:

Geocoding. To turn coordinates into a place (city/state/country), the app may send location coordinates to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service. No account information is sent with these requests.
Apple. Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation that a subscription is active; we do not receive your payment-card details.
Email delivery. A third-party email provider delivers transactional emails (for example, password-reset and alert messages).
Hosting. Our servers and database are run by our hosting provider on our behalf.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of DayStayed or others.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Settings → Delete account) or by contacting us. When you delete your account, it is deactivated immediately and all of your data is scheduled for permanent deletion 30 days later. If you delete by mistake, contact us within 15 days and we can restore it; after that window we may be unable to recover it.

Your choices and rights

Location. You can turn location permission on or off in iOS Settings at any time. With it off, automatic capture stops and you can still add days manually.
Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile, jurisdictions, and day log in the app and on the website.
Deletion. You can delete your account and data as described above.

Security

Location coordinates and place labels are encrypted at rest, access is restricted to your account, and we use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

DayStayed is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Not tax or legal advice

DayStayed records facts about your location to help you track day-counts. It does not provide tax or legal advice and does not determine your residency or tax liability. Confirm any conclusions with a qualified professional.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the effective date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.
